This group looks at how British history, and the people who were part of that history, shaped Nottingham over the centuries from the town’s early beginnings to the city it is today.

The group is led by Kevin, who is one of the Heritage Walks organisers for the Nottingham Civic Society.

We meet in Arnold Library on the first Monday of the month between 2.00 and 4.00 pm.

The meetings are based on a specific part of history and the role Nottingham played in making that history.

Attendees are asked to contribute and write a short narrative (approx. 5 minutes) about an aspect of the history being discussed, as contribution to the meeting.

During the summer months additional meetings may be held, comprising of a heritage walk looking at Nottingham’s history.

New members are always welcome and a knowledge of history is not required, just a willingness to learn a bit more about Nottingham.

We are fun group, looking at Nottingham and Nottinghamshire history.
