You don’t need to join Activities Group – it is simply a means of getting involved in various activities and events that Arnold U3A will be organising from time to time.

Some of the activities will be having a go at some form of sporting or physical activity. Over the last year we have had a go at skittles, archery, darts, indoor bowls, golf – even gliding.

But it isn’t just about being sporty! We have enjoyed some social events this summer, such as an evening of greyhound racing, a day driving our own boats on the River Trent, a ride on a steam train, and a visit to Ladies Day at Nottingham Races. For the last couple of years we’ve had a Christmas quiz in December. We want to organise events to exercise your brain as well as your body!

And we will try and organise visits to places as well, perhaps to places which are usually off limits to the general public unless special arrangements are made. A recent example was a trip to the British Geological Survey at Keyworth.

The field is yours. Yours to suggest what you want to do and what you would like the group to try and organise for you. Let me know by phone or e-mail (details below) or by adding your suggestions to the group sheets which will be available at main meetings. Watch out for further details.
